With the International Fly Tackle Dealers show (IFTD) in Orlando just days away, Simms has released its list of products that it will debut for its Spring 2015 lineup. Included in the list of new offerings are additions to almost every category of products that Simms manufactures, including a number of new items designed specifically for female anglers.
Simms popular Dry Creek line of water-resistant bags is seeing many of its existing bags upgraded from water-resistant storage to waterproof storage through the addition of waterproof TiZIP zippers. New incarnations of the backpack, duffel and hip pack have been adorned with the TIZIP waterproof closures and will wear the moniker "Dry Creek Z." The new bags/packs will retail for $299.95, $349.95 and $199.95, respectively.
In addition to the refresh of the Dry Creek line, Simms is also adding two new bags to its Headwaters line that it debuted at last year's IFTD show. Joining the rest of the Headwaters packs are the new Gear Bag ($199.95) and Tackle Bag ($179.95).
As noted, Simms is introducing two new products for the fastest growing demographic in the fly fishing industry: women. Female anglers will have a new boot offering from Simms to ponder in the new Women's Vapor Boot, based on the well-received men's model, as well as a women's version of Simms' Freestone Waders which Simms says has a women’s fit and feature set designed with the help of female guides. The Women's Vapor boot will retail for $169.95, while the women's Freestone stockingfoot waders will hit the shelves at $249.95.
Updates and additions are also coming to the Freestone lineup on the men's side, as well. The Freestone stockingfoot waders and the Freestone Pant are both being refreshed, while the new Freestone Stockingfoot Z waders debut. Following the lead of the "Z" products being added to Simms' Dry Creek line, the Freestone Stockingfoot Z waders feature a waterproof TiZIP zipper and, at $399.95, will be by far the most economical zip-front wader Simms has ever offered.
On top of the new women's Vapor Boot, Simms is also adding a bunch of other new items to its footwear offerings. Simms' will unveil a new Boa® closure boot in the RiverTek™ 2 ($179.95) and, along with the updates to the Freestone wader line, is refreshing its Freestone Boot, Simms most popular boot.
Simms will also be showcasing other footwear (flips) additions, various new pieces of apparel, as well as its new products for fall 2014.
