With tremendous populations of impressively sized fish and crystal clear waters surrounded by a dynamic, breathtaking landscape; the Colorado's South Platte river is widely regarded as the state's premier fishery, as well as one of the premier fisheries in the country. The South Platte, en route to Denver, flows through a number of lakes and reservoirs, dividing the river into distinct sections. The collection below, by Angus Drummond, offers a look at the many faces of the South Platte River.
Angus Drummond is a full time fly fishing guide and freelance photographer based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He began fishing English canals and rivers at age six and has been wetting a line ever since. After college in upstate New York, Angus moved out west to Colorado where he began guiding. He has spent the years since guiding clients and honing his fly fishing skills on some of the West’s premier rivers and reservoirs. Angus' work has beenpublished by numerous fly fishing companies, books and magazines. His fine art prints are featured in fly shops around Colorado.
Angus calls Old Colorado City home with his very understanding wife Hilary and two Labrador Retrievers, Baetis and Hatch. To learn more about Angus and view more of his work, visit his website, Angus Drummond Photography.
