Imagine sending out a neat and tidy newsletter each week featuring the best of each week's articles, editor's picks from our archives, exclusive fly fishing photography and more, but being too lazy to bother telling anyone you're doing it. That's us. We've even been too lazy to bribe folks to sign up to receive the newsletter. We tried it once before, but didn't bother getting the word out much.

This time around, we're determined to turn over a new leaf. And we've got a whole host of gear waiting in the wings to send out to newsletter subscribers, both new ones and to those of you that have been enjoying our weekly dispatches for the last year or so.

Gear like fly lines, leaders, apparel (hats, shirts and so on), tools and accessories and more is slated for giveaway over the next few months. The good news is, you only need to sign up once. Once you're a newsletter subscriber, you're automatically entered in every drawing for every prize we've got piled up waiting to go out.

Up first is Scientific Angler's Mastery VPT (Versatile Presentation Taper) fly line. If you're not familiar already familiar with the VPT lines from Scientific Anglers, these lines are designed first and foremost to be a dry fly fisherman's dream line. The lines have an extended front taper that makes for softer, more delicate presentations. And although the lines are from SA's Mastery series, the tip (foremost 10' of the line) is coated with SA's Sharkskin material, for maximum flotation. According to SA, the extended front taper also makes the line very well suited to single hand spey casting applications. Line is WF5. Retail value is $84.95.

If you already receive our weekly newsletter, you don't need to do anything. Otherwise, simply sign up using the form directly below and you're all set. We'll announce each winner in the weekly newsletter. Good luck to all.

This seems to be a good marketing step forward. I have always liked the world of Scientific Anglers stuff, so following it now won't be a problem.
